APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT

The primary objective of the training is to give practical hands-on skills to learners to effectively carry out application development duties at corporate and formal institutions while taking into consideration the nature of the task and the demands of the current job market. It aims at:

  • making one an efficient technician in application development
  • ensuring smooth integration into the professional life
  • improve professional behavior, soft skill and professional growth in the industry
  • building resilience and open-mindedness

  • Have a high school degree (A Levels / BAC in Sciences)
  • Pass a pre-training acceptance test

  1. Evaluate the requirements of application software
    1. Identify the different equipments and users on the ground
    2. Consult the IT team as well as users
    3. Analyze similar solutions with similar use cases
    4. Decide on the need of building new application or using on already on the market
    5. Develop an invoice for purchase or development
    6. Make a tender
  2. Participate in the development of the requirements document
    1. Document the functional requirements of the system
    2. Document the non functional requirements of the system
  3. Conceive the application to build
    1. Conceive the modular architecture of the system
    2. For each module build the detailed architecture
    3. Recommend the best technologies taking into account the functionalities of the system
    4. Develop the algorithm for each part of the system
    5. Suggest layers and types of components
    6. Document a report of conception
  4. Conceive the database based on the specification
    1. Choose the database system
    2. Build the MCD1 and generate the MLD2 under power AMC or Win-design
    3. Write stored procedures and application triggers
    4. Create the database
    5. Develop a database conception document
  5. Program each module
    1. Choose a development environment
    2. Build the user interface of each module
    3. Program the module in the chosen language
    4. Develop the programming document
  6. Test and integrate modules
    1. Generate test cases
    2. Test each module
    3. Correct each module
    4. Integrate modules
    5. Test integrated modules
    6. Produce the module of integration
  7. Deploy the software
    1. Build/compile the application to deploy
    2. Install the application
    3. Setup use cases for test
    4. Produce a test report
    5. Configure/setup the application
    6. Produce the deployment report
  8. Carry out corrective maintenance
    1. Collect errors from users
    2. diagnose bugs
    3. Fix bugs
    4. Redeploy application
  9. Carryout routine maintenance
    1. Collect new requirements from users
    2. Build new modules
    3. Integrate with the application
    4. test the new version
    5. Deploy the new version
  10. Train personnel to use the application
    1. Document the usage manual
    2. Plan the user training
    3. Train the users
    4. Assess the training and record data
    5. Produce a training report
  11. Participate in the establishment of the network
    1. Check network traffic
    2. Optimize the network to avoid interruptions
    3. Send to security personnel the security requirements for the application
    4. Participate in the implementation of the security rules
  12. Use the application acquired
    1. Train on the usage of the system
    2. Update the database
    3. Produce the states
    4. Produce a report on usage
  13. Administer a website
    1. Create web pages
    2. Collect info for updating the website
    3. Update the website
